I'll be talking about r9k specifically bc this is the board we are currently on
I think that a bitter mentality is kind of okay to a certain extent, but it shouldn't keep others from acting a certain way. The whole entire normie thing just kind of made actual normal people that joined (especially teens) edgy and annoying because they wanted to fit in. So on this board we need to be fine with people that are different, or if there is a "normie" thread to just not reply to it.
On the topic of replying to threads, everyone needs to try to support threads that they genuinely see good for the board. If you see a thread that you don't like -- just ignore it. You make the thread more likely to stay alive if you reply to it. That seems obvious, but then you have tards who are like "ree dumb thread blahahahd".
But also on that note, for this board specifically, if you see a thread that you don't think belongs on the board, leave a reply saying something like that and leave it alone after that. If you also dislike that thread but someone has already stated opposition -- just leave it at that tbqh.
>>762>low effort/quality threads
trying to put some sort of effort into threads here will really help obviously, but mods have to also try to prune meaningless threads imo (threads that contribute nothing and have no humor to them or anything)>>761
Making this r9k a blue board on 22chan would be a really great thing and preventing face posting also would be good also.
My opinion of Discord threads is kind of iffy. I think that having Discord servers could be a really good thing, but the promotion of cult like, toxic, or cliquey Discords should not be posted. For some reason, those were always the most popular Discord servers and they really shouldn't be. Discord has great potential for serving as a way for r9k users to make friends though.
> I think that having Discord servers could be a really good thing
There is an official discord server (discord.22chan.org) where twoot is also online most of the time
I think that should be the only discord server
Traps and faggots
>Too much 3DPD.
How about you kick all of that out and replace it with 2D instead? 3DPD ruins everything.
>No regards for Japan.
How about you make everything japanese again? With the exception of 3D of course.
>no /christian/ board
Also can someone please explain to me why I need to solve about 5 captcha's successfully so that I can post? This is the only website where I have this problem
>please select all the matching images
>please try again
>please try again
>Please Try Again
>PLEASE TRY AGAIN
>>696>Incel threads -You will not get a girl because you lack "blank"
>I remember some anon making D&D threads on r9k with a red alert theme. I joined his discord server afterwards and made some friends. I would like this to come back.
Also creative general. >>763
Discord servers are truly a mixed bag. >>788
Furries are pretty bad.>>788
4chan does that to mee ALL the time
Way to much porn
Make a new rule that prevents face posting.
Rate my dick/ass/whatever threads
Roast me threads
kik threads/any social media nigger shit threads (all /soc/shit)
That list is what made /b/ specifically shit, but the site overall:
retarded /pol/lacks (overlaps with plebbit niggers and edgy memelords)
and of course just plain normalfaggots
>excessive religious or anti religious it is a waste of time in context of this site.
Lgbt, tumblr, furries, and porn.
/pol/ becoming nothing more than a containment board.
>"have sex", "dilate", "seethe", "cope", "yikes", "cringe", "rent free", and any other phrase used to dismiss an actual post
>populace is so dissociated with the website that any slight notion of aggression is unnatural
>any and every general gets replaced with a discord, then said discord drags that general down ("destroying your home")
>copypaste threads (especially on /b/ and /v/)
>newfags are so spiteful that any reiteration of pepe/wojak are considered "normie" (refer to second point)
>hiveminded; I can't get a single thread going for Mechina or even Boards of Canada, yet the same fucking faggot ass Neutral Milk Hotel album along with Death Grips and Radiohead ALWAYS has a thread on the front page
>just a better /b/ at this point
>just a mediocre porn board at this point
>nobody will get rid of it because that would destroy the point of the board
>flash will die soon
>the only blue board that's allowed to post spoilered porn
>also the only major board without a general equivalent
/any porn board/
>so divided amongst each other and yet can't properly contain cumbrains
>there's absolutely no fucking reason for /h/ or /d/ and /aco/ to exist at the exact same time, especially considering that /h/ and /d/ are the only porn boards that SUDDENLY decided that western content on the western weeaboo board is bad
>any "adult" or "worksafe" variant of another board could have just been an optional switch between a red/blue board instead of its own board
No women allowed. That starts the downhill spiral every time.
My main board>hiveminded; I can't get a single thread going for Mechina or even Boards of Canada, yet the same fucking faggot ass Neutral Milk Hotel album along with Death Grips and Radiohead ALWAYS has a thread on the front page
Even boc? I see them posted from time to time, mainly music has the right to children and geogaddi (sometimes others)
Anyway I agree. It's hard to keep a thread alive that isn't about something /mu/core. Sad testimony is the /groove/ threads that always die quickly>k-pop
For me personally kpop is annoying mostly because they steal all the gets. Apart from that they usually have 1/2 threads at a time and don't go outside of them. What is much more annoying to me is the 4/5 threads at a time you get about clairo/billie/lauren. And often you get the same pointless discussions ("billie not a plant!") over and over again, which makes those threads get loads of replies and a long life
Another thing is that /mu/ apparently used to be good. Reading stuff online it seems they once had a radio, listenalongs, sometimes "festivals" (/mu/chella). It seems like it was a more lively and fun community a few years back
My Boards of Canada posts would get, like, 50 posts before archiving. My Mechina threads would get 0, which is bullshit; I know people are listening to it. I've seen them.https://archive.rebeccablacktech.com/mu/search/text/mechina/>there are people who don't like it because it's "too twinkly" and "symphonic">these are probably the same people who listen to boomer rock wannabe faggots like Metal Church and Judas Priest
See that thread with Embrace the Breed? Absolutely nobody cared about it. A fucking rare album that wasn't found anywhere except music rating sites, and they just treat it like some subtle joke that their lobotomized heads couldn't catch.
What pisses me off the most about /mu/ is not that it's a contained cesspool of NPCs, but I met one of their lurkers IRL. He used it as bragging rights about how "hipster" he was, and this is what he listened to frequently.>Aphex Twin>Radiohead (of fucking course)>Death Grips (of fucking course)
I was so pissed off about his audacity to falsely call himself a hipster when he was just gargling the whole board's cum like a two dollar Chinese whore, so I replied to him and named these albums off of my phone's storage.>Boards of Canada>18 Carat Affair>Sonata Arctica>Mechina>Com Truise>Caligula's Horse>Oilix (can't even be found anywhere but bandcamp)>Chaos Divine>Boreal Network (last i checked, not much of the discography made it to youtube either)>J Sanders>Monuments (the djent band)>One on Twoism (collection of various artists)>Absent Distance>Raunchy>Rez X OSCOB
He backed down when I told him that it was a mere fraction of what I had. Keep in mind, I don't even call myself a hipster. I shilled Rez X OSCOB to people before, but that's only because every album they ever made was for free. Other than that, I don't discuss them because I know nobody would have a thing to say, and I deal with it like a normal fucking person.
I think of him every time I even look at /mu/. It disgusts me that he goes to that place solely to feel "unique" by ironically conforming to a whole different community, never forming his own tastes. I already hated /mu/, but that experience forever skewered any chance of me finding a shred of hope in that wasteland. It's 12:30 AM here, and I want to fucking scream because of him. What a stupid cunt.
>>1134>>1135>My Boards of Canada posts would get, like, 50 posts before archiving
That's not too bad>My Mechina threads would get 0, which is bullshit; I know people are listening to it. I've seen them.>https://archive.rebeccablacktech.com/mu/search/text/mechina/
Yeah make a /mu/ thread about anything not too famous and you will hardly get replies. I guess even when there are other people who listen to it, they aren't lurking when the thread's made and then it gets too low for them to notice
Perhaps it would be better if /mu/ was slower>It disgusts me that he goes to that place solely to feel "unique" by ironically conforming to a whole different community, never forming his own tastes.
That sucks. That sounds a lot like a male version of the art hoe meme. I guess "feeling unique" is something a lot of people struggle with today
(Btw I don't think I'm a hipster or have superior taste. I'm a year on /mu/ and I'm still discovering /mu/core (not only). I know I'm not unique and certainly don't brag about /mu/ irl)>that experience forever skewered any chance of me finding a shred of hope in that wasteland
I think /mu/'s shit and it looks like it won't get better soon. I have some /mu/ charts so I wouldn't need to browse it for new music for a while. But I browse it because I think sometimes you can find fun stuff. Vocaroo threads were nice fir example. Recently discovered josip on deck. Also I'm a fan of /mu/ makes an album threads, despite the albums not always ending up great
Honestly delete /pol/ before it's too late.
I browsed /mu/ a lot in 2011-2013 and I liked it a lot. I was like 18-21 at the time so younger, but it was still a sort of special place. I stopped going in 2014 because the classical threads were dying out and I was getting more into /lit/
Honestly this. Or at least rename it.
what ruined 4chan (actually, most of these apply to 8chan, too):
- annoying normalfags and newfags who never bothered to lurk (especially the anti-anime normies)
- *excessive* frogposting and wojacks, spurdos and their spinoffs
- normalfag mods or otherwise bad mods
- excessive low-quality shitposting
- roasties and camwhores (and people who whiteknight for them)
- shitty captcha
- shills (especially in /pol/)
- infighting (especially in /pol/)
what ruined /r9k/ specifically:
- too many edgelords
- excessive relationshit posting>>761
If you want porn, there are porn sites and you can go to 4chan. In my opinion roasties and porn (at least 3DPD kind) shouldn't be allowed since that sort of content attracts normalfags and encourages low-quality posts. There are other sites where you can post your weird porn and hentai, so there is no need to ruin 22chan. There is even a dedicated site for dolljoints, you know.>>1144
Renaming /pol/ is a good idea tbh
Don't you have a whole board to scream about /pol/ towards?
Oh, wait, you do. Go fuck off back there.https://boards.4channel.org/qa/
Please this. If you haven't noticed already pol just shits everything up. Every. God. Damn. Time.
Again, fuck off to /qa/ if you want to scream your head off about your /pol/ boogeyman.
sheesh, stop being such a sperg. the people who want to SHUT IT DOWN are not any better than /pol/acks who keeps on calling everyone shills. a much better option would be to just rename the board, just like /feels/ was renamed. renaming /pol/ would help distancing that board from the usual shortcomings of /pol/ (nowadays, it's nearly impossible to have any real discussion in /pol/, at least on other imageboards, for example)
but it's pretty hard to come up with a new name for /pol/... perhaps calling it /np/ (for "news and politics") or /happening/ could work?
>>1163>the people who want to SHUT IT DOWN are not any better than /pol/acks who keeps on calling everyone shills.
The problem is not even the /pol/ boogeyman shitting up boards [because deleting their containment board would make the problem worse]. It's either the media attention 4chan got as a result of the 2016 election serving as a normalfag magnet, or simply "I don't like (opinion), waaaah.">nowadays, it's nearly impossible to have any real discussion in /pol/
That's the case for every board on 4chan in general, with a few bleak threads breaking the barrier. Ironically, I only ever see real discussion on /v/ when it's on an off-topic thread; most of my experiences there have been completely gullible fanboys defending a game they never played (such as Hollow Knight).
Not even dead boards are safe from this. Oekaki gets a brave requestfag or two every month making their own thread to beg for free shit, and there's a lot more lurking for an artist to make his own. There's no trace of /pol/shittery in there affecting the board whatsoever, with the exception of an occasional jew shitpost.
The real problem is the cumbrains; they will do whatever possible to bend the rules to their liking. /pol/ threads are banned on /v/, no fucking shit. Yet, things like Senran Kagura, Fire Emblem, Dead or Alive, NiER: Automata, and other blatant horseshit piled up with a bunch of ecchi to distract idiots are allowed because TECHNICALLY they are, in fact, video games. It's a challenge to see how far you can go before you're banned for posting porn on a blue board.
That's what ruined Oekaki; it's a red board, so porn is allowed, which means porn addicts will keep begging for free shit to fuel their dopamine rush. /aco/ faggots ruin the OC threads with their cookie cutter garbage, /trash/ requesters rear their ugly heads in any thread they wish, and whenever a new thread is made, there's a one in five chance that it already turned to porn, and if it hasn't, there's a third of a chance that it will along the way.
He's just blaming /pol/ because he's a stupid fucking faggot who can't handle wrongthink, yet willingly participates in websites where wrongthink is bred in mass.
>>1163>>1164>>1165>He's just blaming /pol/ because he's a stupid fucking faggot who can't handle wrongthink, yet willingly participates in websites where wrongthink is bred in mass.
Willingly participates in it, yet expects it to change to his will, might I add; he wants wrongthink to disappear and safe opinions to be the golden standard. He wants to suck the unique perspective straight out of 4chan, and now 22chan.
In other words, my friend, he's a normalfag.
I just thought that renaming /pol/ would make them shut up, and perhaps, as a bonus, make anons subconsciously avoid posting the cancer that's killing /pol/ and imageboards in general.
But you are actually right, I guess. I see it now. Giving in for the normalfags and the eternal bluepills is a bad mistake, even if it's just a little, and ultimately irrelevant, thing. Because it's a bit similar to the situation with SJWs: they are never happy, unless they alone get to make the rules and dictate how everyone posts. (and even then the chances are that they aren't still happy because nothing is enough for them)
Normalfags shouldn't be allowed to affect the way the site works because they are used to how Facebook/Twitter and Reddit works, and they seem to expect that all sites function in the same exact way.
What! Mountain li-- normalfags in my basement!?
(disregard this, I need to go to bed)
