It could give the site a special touch...
Twootie, plz add it.
I agree, that shit looks disgusting
It makes the site look great! Bring back frames!
Theres no point to this besides faking an older appearance when theres no design benefits.
make it a option
I guarantee you dont even use it on 4 so youre not gonna use it here either
I use it on 4>>415
It's not "faking" an "older appearance" dumbass. And what do you mean "design benifits", if anything it just makes the site easier to navigate so I don't have to scroll all the way to the top of the fucking page to navigate the site.>>413
Well I think it looks beautiful
Go drink soylent you bugman faggots. Go back to dressing like a gay lumberjack making the same fucking stretched ugly corporate website with the same parallax scrolling stock images that shows and does nothing, "ohhh I've optomized the workflow" you say doing the soyface next to your Star Wars Force Awakens poster which is the only poster your wife let you keep but she fucks 5 niggers a day.
Everything looks stretched without it and I have to scroll up to click a tiny fucking letter instead of just clicking the board, there's a reason Futaba still has it.
I bet they're phoneposters.
I'm a phone fagger, but i like the way 22chan works.
I agree with twot.
I'd understand not wanting it on mobile but honestly if you fucking want to dumb this site down for phoneposter retards might as well delete the site entirely and make it into a facebook page like EncyclopediaDramatica has.
If your a phonefagger like me use a user agent switcher. Everything works 10 times faster.
And when you post, it won't "reset" like it normally does.
Oh fuck off. Old 4chan only allowed images to be in the OP and that was changed because it was stupid. Just because it's old doesn't mean its good.
Frames are a symbol of a bygone era when loading that boardlist each and every page was something to be upset over. Nowadays its useless. You aren't gonna resurrect the past's fun by keeping old and stale traditions for the sake of it, you keep it alive by innovating ideas that are unique.
Fuck off with your buzzwords and stop LARPing as someone from 2005 when you can't deal with disagreement without pulling the cuck card like a fucking /r/the_donald redditor.>I have to scroll up to click a tiny fucking letter instead of just clicking the board
Who the fuck uses the buttons? Ctrl+l and typing in the letter takes much less time than moving the mouse to the other side of the screen. Why are you so adamant about making sure you don't know a given page's URL just by looking upwards? Why are you so adamant about making it harder to bookmark threads? Why do you hate the idea of opening multiple threads at once? >Everything looks stretched
Why must you sperg out over pages having more space to itself?
Here we go again.
Another shitty war that will never end.
Is it the same guy again?
Ban them a second time.
>>430>calling for bans over a legitimate suggestion
what do you think this place is, (insert any chan with shit tyrant moderators here)?
Couldn't this be solved by having the navigation bar at the top stick around instead of scrolling with the rest of the page? You get your convenient navigation AND plenty of space for posts, it's a win-win
What a fucking idiot. First of all, what does "images only being allowed in the OP" have to do with anything he was talking about how Futaba Channel still uses frames because they're easier to navigate. He wasn't saying frames where good because they where old, he was saying frames where good because, yet again, they are easier to navigate. But the nostalgia is still an added bonus.
About frames being "a symbol of a bygone era", frames where very intuitive and there is no reason NOT to use them they are not useless and the pages still loaded individually, just in a frame.
We aren't keeping traditions alive "just for the sake of it" we do it to remember and stay true. 4chan strayed to far from tradition and look where that got it. There is still room for innovation, just don't destroy tradition in the process.>Who the fuck uses the buttons?
Just about everyone. I know I do.>>420
Go back to 4cuck with those shitty buzzwords, you're only embarrassing yourself.>Why must you sperg out over pages having more space to itself?
It's space that is literally not used by anything else, wasted space.
Twoot, please add frames, as an option so everyone wins.
Dear fucking god, i know who you're talking about, i'm not the newfag! Please don't ban me! I just hate shitty wars.
A double frame could look nice
Left frame for boards and Right frame for tracked threads, i dont know. its could look nice.
Team Frames FTW!!
>>436>what does "images only being allowed in the OP" have to do with anything he was talking about
Because its a system which isn't needed anymore, don't force frames on me because you're nostalgia-blind, that is if you're nostalgiac towards it at all and not just a pathetic wannabe.>4chan strayed to far from tradition and look where that got it.
The site layout has nothing to do with this and you know that damn well. It's barely changed since 2008.>There is still room for innovation, just don't destroy tradition in the process.
No. You're saying that a system should be in place even though it been abandoned for clear reasons: frames aren't used anymore because restricting a site's browsing to just one tab is retarded. I've gotta go back and open any thread in a new tab just for the URL. What if I want to open three threads on one page? Time to open them all right? Well no, fuck you because those two other tabs now have no navigation included within them because they were left behind because of the frames.>Just about everyone. I know I do.
So why is using them so unfathomably difficult to where you need to change how the site works just so you can avoid doing that?>It's space that is literally not used by anything else, wasted space.
Except for text. Your post goes all the way to the right on my monitor and having frames take up a fifth of the screen would scrunch it down. That space is better used for the thread you opened up the page for rather than a board list reminding you /yu/ exists.
>>436>>440>as an option
twoot wouldn't put such work on a feature just to throw it behind options. You either start a riot for the entire site to move or you deal with the site loading a fraction of a millisecond slower because the line of text on the board list needs to be redisplayed.>>435
Well because obviously this is going nowhere but a shit show, I've added frames myself.https://rileyjamesbell.ml/ch/frames/22/
NOTE: This is 3rd party and not affiliated with 22chan!
I welcome all suggestions.
so you're shooting down a potential utility because you see it as nothing but a cash-in on nostalgia.>>442
Seems nice, the main thing I notice right off the bat is how much more accessible the livechat is. It's always been a pain in the ass to go to the main page and then to the livechat. As a whole, the frame doesn't hold much value for me specifically, though, since my 22chan usage model goes something like>open /all/>do something else in another tab>refresh every now and then to see if there's any new posts
But if 22chan ever gets busy to the point that /all/ is no longer viable then this would be very useful. Thank you for throwing this together so quickly so I can actually understand what the fuck people are talking about.
btw livechan is at https://live.22chan.org/
so you might should probably best fix that
(I did before I saw this comment LOL)
>Link to the OWOT
You have my respect Lolico.
there should be a setting option to toggle it on/off>>434
yeah, it seems someone invited Reddit over.
the "fucking ban everyone else besides me and my clones" mentality is for retards who think that all sites operate like some shitty social media platform.>>435
this is actually even better option
Can't really see why people are against it, if it's an optional design feature which can be turned on or off at any time.
Ah, now this makes perfect sense.
