Do you live in a country that just so happen to have a ridiculous law that makes next to no sense? Or the reasoning behind it is so foolish no man on earth could ever take it seriously? Or maybe the law isn't so dumb, but the results are just horrendous... or do you know of a law in another country that just seems bonkers. Share the law, why you think it's stupid and maybe even your own law that you would like to add to your country.

The gun laws in many states of the USA are completely wack.

Well to start off, what even is legally a gun in the first place in the USA?
It's the receiver, and, as far as I understand, accessories that are meant to turn a firearm to be fully-automatic. See pic related, a string is classified as a machinegun.
In Europe the gun part is the barrel and bolt, though I think the list got expanded to add in trunnions and receivers aswell.

It's simply a well known fact that weed is less bad for your health than alcohol, iess destructively addictive than alcohol (I mean: it's less likely that you'll develop a Lifetime Dependence to it) and a weed user is less dangerous to others than an alcohol one. I can source this.
Additionally a pretty big portion of weed is sold and consumed illegally. More than any other drug for sure.
If you made weed legal you could tax it, have stricter controls on quality (probably diminishing health damage) and also it might become harder for minors to get it. A legal shop owner is less likely to sell drugs to kids (illegally) than a drug dealer
Also: having to buy weed from a drug dealer makes it much easier to buy other illicit (and more dangerous) drugs. If one buys weed legally it will not be as easy for him to get into more heavy stuff

>If you made weed legal you could tax it, have stricter controls on quality (probably diminishing health damage) and also it might become harder for minors to get it.
Lolwut that would arguably make it easier for teenagers to get weed. All they would have to do now is to have someone older they know buy it for them. Also how does weed being better than alcohol make weed good?

>All they would have to do now is to have someone older they know buy it for them
That's a valid argument. But right now for many teens all it takes to get weed is to buy it from a fren. There's also teens who approach this as a business and start buying/selling weed for profit, often as a way to fund their own addiction
If you compare that to the current situation with under-aged people getting access to alcohol, it seems to me that legalization is a reasonable trade-off
>Also how does weed being better than alcohol make weed good?
I was arguing that it doesn't make sense to ban weed, and if you really wanted to be strict on drugs, there are other ones that you should ban first
I'm not saying that weed is "good" or "bad"

If you believe that stats that have been coming out, teenage use hasn't really gone up in states that have lifted prohibition. Further, weed being "bad" doesn't really make much of an argument for prohibition. The only case you can make is that it is bad for your health and addictive, but it doesn't pose any of the dangers of any other scheduled substances.

Obscenity laws in general really get on my tits. They introduce this idea that you can enact censorship while still having freedom of speech and press, which is evil and wrong.

You either have freedom or you don't. There's no gray area.

It really is fucking stupid to ban weed while allowing alcohol and cigarettes though. Both are substantially worse for your health, but are perfectly fine.

I might sound crazy for suggesting this, but I'm of the opinion that the law should at least be consistent.

It's all political posturing. The parties that support obscenity laws will use free speech to defend hatred of whites. The same parties that are against weed prohibition supported the banning of tobacco in public areas. When I was in college, I used to say that in the future you will get your weed from the gas station and your blunt wraps from a dealer. I was joking but it's coming true. If the law was based on logic, it would be consistent. But it's based on stupidity and mob rule.

Continuing on
because that only those few specific parts are the actual "gun" legally in the US, people can simply make receivers and just buy the bolts/barrrels/everything else
